Lutterworth College

SIAMS

As a Church of England school, Lutterworth College is inspected through the Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) framework. SIAMS is the statutory inspection of Church of England and Methodist schools in England and considers how effectively a school is living out its Christian foundation.

The focus of SIAMS is our Christian vision and its impact on the life of the school. Inspectors consider how our vision shapes the decisions we make, the experiences we provide and the way we support pupils and adults to flourish. This includes the quality of relationships and community, the development of pupils' character and spirituality, collective worship and Religious Education.

The current SIAMS framework recognises that every Church school is different. Inspectors therefore consider the school's particular context rather than looking for a prescribed model of what a Church school should look like. The emphasis is on the impact of what the school does and the difference this makes to the lives of pupils and adults.

At Lutterworth College, our Christian vision is centred on enabling every young person to learn, flourish and succeed. We seek to create a community in which every young person is known, valued and encouraged to recognise their God-given potential. Our Christian foundation influences how we approach learning, relationships, service, character, inclusion and the wider life of our school.

SIAMS considers how effectively this vision is lived out across the school, including:

  • the leadership and development of the school's Christian vision
  • the quality of education and how pupils develop wisdom, knowledge and skills
  • how pupils develop character, hope, aspiration and a commitment to making a positive difference
  • the strength of relationships and our sense of community
  • how we promote dignity, respect and the wellbeing of all
  • the impact of collective worship on the spiritual life of the school
  • the quality and effectiveness of Religious Education.

Rather than awarding a traditional inspection grade, SIAMS provides a detailed, evidence-based evaluation of the school's strengths and areas for development. The central question is whether the school is living up to its foundation as a Church school and enabling pupils and adults to flourish.

For families, SIAMS provides an opportunity to see how the Christian character of Lutterworth College is expressed not simply through worship or Religious Education, but through the whole life of the school and the experiences of the young people and adults within our community.

Lutterworth College last received a SIAMS inspection in May 2019. Click here to see the report from this inspection.
