Post-16 Options

Although the vast majority of our Year 11 students continue into our Sixth Form, A Level study is not the appropriate choice for everyone.

This may be due to entry requirements or simply an interest in a vocational course which is offered elsewhere.

Alternatively, you may be considering applying for an apprenticeship.

Visit the PS16 website or look at individual college websites to research your options if an alternative course at a college in Leicestershire or undertaking an apprenticeship appeals to you:

For those students considering alternative providers please find below a list of open events for your information:-

Writing a Personal Statement

Writing a Personal Statement is an important part of the College application process as it gives students the chance to tell colleges about themselves and highlight their strengths and key achievements. Mrs Cant, Careers Advisor or Form tutors are happy to read through any draft statements before students submit their applications.

A HUGE thank you to all the students, parents & carers who joined us on Tuesday evening at our annual Careers & Apprenticeships Fair.  It was really fantastic to welcome almost 1,000 people through the doors to explore GCSE, Post 16 & Post 18 options and talk to employers, colleges & universities. Exhibitors included the NHS, Colas Rail, Watling JCB, Morgan Sindall, LEBC, Cox Automotive, Leics. Police, Oliveti, Harborough District Council, DMU, University of Leicester and the Armed Forces - RAF, Navy & Army, plus many more!

We hope it was a really beneficial night for all who attended.

We had some truly fantastic feedback from our 50+ exhibitors who commented on how polite, and mature our students were and what great conversations they had with them.  They represented the school so well and were really engaged so thank you - we are very proud of you all!  A selection of photos from the night can be found below.  Thank you again for joining us.
