Welcome from our Chair of Directors
"I started volunteering with TLAT and Lutterworth College towards the end of 2022 as a parent governor/director with both of my children then, and still, attending the school. Since then I have assisted with the running of the Trust as a director and being Chair of Lutterworth College Local Governing Board (LGB). With John Warren’s retirement from TLAT the board of directors have agreed to my appointment as the new Chair of Directors, which means I will also be stepping back from my role as the Chair of the LGB. I want to take this opportunity to thank John for his work and dedication over the last three decades working with both Lutterworth College and TLAT.
TLAT are entering an exciting and challenging period as we work with RISE Trust on the transfer of Lutterworth College. In my role as Chair of Directors I will be looking for RISE MAT to confirm that we maintain the high standards of Lutterworth college during and after a transfer. My personal ambitions, in my role as Chair of Directors, is to ensure we are always mindful and focused on the Lutterworth College mission and objective of “enabling every young person to learn, flourish and succeed”, whilst also ensuring we maintain and run the Trust within required governance. Lastly, whilst not a religious man myself, I will work to ensure we maintain and enhance our engagements with the Leicester Diocese and continue to embed our “Be Christ Values” with our students.”

The Laurels Academies Trust
Trustees of the Lutterworth Academies Trust
Trust Directors as a group form the Board of The Laurels Academies Trust (TLAT)
They have 3 key responsibilities.
- Setting the strategic direction and development of the Trust
- The performance management of both the Trust CEO & school headteachers
- Ensuring financial probity and that the Trust is compliant with the procedures set out in The Academy Trust Handbook
The Directors of the TLAT meet meet regularly (normally 6 times per academic year) and can delegate powers to the local school committees.
