Educational Visits
At Lutterworth College we believe that Educational Visits are a fantastic and essential way to improve learning experiences.
Experiences outside the classroom help to maintain student’s motivation towards their studies whilst offering an opportunity to explore new places, forge new friendships and experience different cultures and ideas.
We offer a range of trips during your child’s time at Lutterworth College and the offer will vary dependent upon your child’s subject choices.
All students will be invited to attend our annual reward trip at the end of the Summer Term and will take part in Enrichment Day each year, along with many other opportunities such as theatre visits, museums and art galleries, science fairs, field trips and revision events, to name a few.
All trips are subject to our terms and conditions of attendance as detailed below and in our Educational Visits Policy which can be viewed on the below link.
Educational Visit Information
- The Parent Pay system must be used for consent, payments and medical information (log in details from financeteam@lutterworthcollege.com)
- PLEASE NOTE ALL EMERGENCY MEDICATION (INCLUDING INHALERS) MUST BE TAKEN ON THE TRIP FAILURE TO SO COULD RESULT IN YOUR CHILD BEING WITHDRAWN AND CONTRIBUTIONS MAY BE LOST
- By consenting to trip attendance, I agree to my child receiving any emergency medical, dental or surgical treatment, including anaesthetic and blood transfusions as considered necessary by the medical authorities present unless indicated otherwise to the School. (You will of course be contacted if an emergency arises)
- The visit is not directly linked to work for external examinations, and therefore your child has the option to take part in the activity.
- If your child currently receives free school meals, Lutterworth College will automatically fund 25% of the cost of your child’s contributions.
- If you are unable or unwilling to make a contribution but would like your child to attend the visit please contact d.lane@lutterworthcollege.com for further information regarding what additional support may be available.
- Whilst the legislation of the 1988 Education Act outlines that there is no obligation for parents to contribute and no student will be omitted from the activity because her/his parents are unable to do so, I am sure you will appreciate the demands on the resources of the school, therefore if funds from voluntary contributions are insufficient to cover the cost of the trip, then the trip will have to be cancelled.
- Please note that once the trip has been deemed viable payments are non-refundable.
- If the trip is oversubscribed, then the places available will be allocated by ballot.
- Students are expected to uphold high standards of behaviour for the duration of the trip and if the school has any concerns about their behaviour, the school reserve the right to remove any student from the trip at any point before or during it for the safety of everyone involved.
- Staff, whilst working voluntarily to continue to make opportunities available to young people, increasingly judge it important that parents are clear that this visit will be predominantly directly supervised throughout but there may be occasions when this is not possible.
- Adequate insurance cover is provided. Any extension of insurance cover is parental responsibility.
